This inspiring article:

"It really doesn’t pass by any faster than those long childhood summers, but we just lose fascination, or I should say we lose wonder. We are no longer astonished by the way the world works.
A famous cure for that is travel."

I'll add in my own here: Or children...wonder with them...

We are back in Turkey for the summer. Reconnecting with relatives, a culture, a language, a landscape...

In love with this song right now...thanks Trinea... "Sacrificing for the kids, 'cause that’s what mommys do..."

Want to make some jewelry for her to rock with all those rad prints and colors!

“You get a strange feeling when you're about to leave a place, I told him, like you'll not only miss the people you love but you'll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you'll never be this way ever again.”

Looking through old journals. Quotes I had written down that ring so true...books from fellow culture hoppers.

"I think of those early years when my kids were babies as an incredibly creative, supercharged time where I was constantly on the edge of brilliance or falling apart. (Mostly falling apart.) Long hours, not enough sleep, not enough downtime, but still, this incredible fullness and satisfaction at being a mom and trying to carve out a creative space of my own. You're right, though, now that my kids are older, I have also changed. I think I am less afraid of disappearing. I used to panic that my identity was only wrapped up in motherhood and I'd never have adult conversations again. It pushed me to make stuff and reach out and connect."
