One Piece, Three Ways: The Amazing, Harem Pants Adventure

KISA fashion styling, How to wearemily kisaComment

If there is one great revelation about Kisa Boutique’s fab collection of Euro-chic pieces, it’s that they are easier to style than you may think. These incredibly unique items are easy to fall in love with, but some of you may feel a bit intimidated about how to incorporate them into your daily looks. I’m here to report that you—all of you—have plenty of items in your closet that are just waiting for a new best friend, like these divine harem pants from Kisa.

Pajama comfort and upscale trendiness is a tricky pair to find in one piece. These one-size-fits-all dream pants fit that description. They are the holy grail of pantalones.

Behold, as I take these harem pants on an adventure—from super cas’ to downtown office to a wild night out. I used my own tops, jackets, accessories & shoes—easy basics I didn’t have to purchase specifically for these pants.

Let’s go!

Whether you’re hitting up a local market, going on a coffee run, or spending the day exploring a new town, these harem pants are crazy comfortable and perfectly paired with a colorful, breezy tank and booties. I chose a mint tank; tucked it in a bit, threw on my favorite black moto booties, and grabbed a big pair of sunnies. Bam. It’s really easy to look put together with very little effort in these pants. The print is loud, but not obnoxious. It’s fun, but definitely not childish. Just enough personality to pair with no-fuss basics.

Alternately, you could choose a fitted long sleeve cotton top or a slouchy tee; gladiator sandals or flip flops. As long as you don’t tuck these pants into boots (who would want to hide that beautiful tapered leg), you really can’t fail with a casual look in the harem pants.

It is truly a great day in fashion history when you can wear pants this comfortable to work. It absolutely feels like cheating. And maybe it is. But it’s the only kind of cheating you can be proud of, as you prance off to work as cozy as humanly possible.

The key to making this look work is classic, structured pieces. I’m wearing a black chiffon tank under a fitted black blazer. I created a solid shape on top, balancing the loose, free look of the harem pants. If you wear a blazer or jacket with these pants, keep it unbuttoned & open. I also added a cognac tote (more classic structure) and pulled my hair back (ready to get down to business). Also, if you wear glasses, this would be a good day to rock ‘em.

Because this is a spring/summer look, I chose nude, single sole, strap heels. Gotta let the feet breathe, babes.

The final look on our Harem Pants Adventure is reserved for lighting up the night. Going out for a late dinner? Seeing a band live? Hopping to a few different spots for drinks? Wear. these. pants. I let my hair down and paired the pants with a cobalt blue blouse, leather jacket, hot red lips and black pointed pumps.

You could add color many different ways: A bright pink blazer with a black tee & sandal heels; red pumps with a silky blouse; a coral lip & orange nails with a bright white tank & a fun necklace. Endless possibilities.

Moral of the story, ladies: Do not be afraid to take home a piece of clothing that is out of your comfort zone. Fashion can be a little scary, but that’s the fun. When you introduce a new, exciting, different item to your closet, you’ll be surprised how many ways you can style it. Slowly, you’ll be more confident about adding a whole bunch of pieces (from Kisa!) that you will totally rock with reckless abandon. And these are the pieces that so loudly speak your personality; that invite compliments & questions from strangers; that take your wardrobe to the next level.
