Thank goodness for sisters
Here at KISA we are lucky enough to have sisters, to be raising small, little lovely people to be sisters, and have the kindest, wisest, and most generous mothers and aunties. We love when sisters—by birth or who have found each other in this world—meet in our shop, share a coffee with us, and tell us their stories! We are beyond thrilled to introduce you to our new cutie friends, Maria and Anna Rummel.
If you were handed a free ticket to anywhere, where would your wanderlust take you?
Maria: Greece. My dad studied abroad there in college and still talks about it all the time—not to mention the beautiful coast-line and mountainside (think: Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants). My wanderlust would quickly take me outside the tourist destinations to the small villages. For me, the most enjoyable part about traveling is being able to experience the way of life in another culture.
Anna: There are so many places I want to see right now, but Spain is definitely at the top of my list! I would love to experience Barcelona, because I hear it has amazing art and culture, as well as a beach scene, so what's not to love about that?!

But for now, since we're in Minneapolis, what's one of your go-to spots here in town? And how did you first discover it?
Anna: Tea Garden in Uptown. Their drinks are so yummy and fun! My nanny-turned-friend, Natalie introduced Maria and I to the Tea Garden years ago, when very few people in my high school knew about it, but now, it's becoming quite popular amongst the high school crowd.
Maria: Much like Anna, Uptown is one of my favorite, Minneapolis spots, and my dear friend Natalie earns credit once again. Since I'm a sucker for breakfast and coffee, this love leads me to one perfect place: Isle Bun and Brew. Life doesn't get much better than sitting outside under a yellow and black umbrella eating a gooey cinnamon roll and sipping some coffee with a friend, or a sister!
What's one quote that's significant to you right now?
College is an illustrious time to discover oneself and build one's futures. I'm learning that it's okay to leave behind the things that don't serve us well and it's okay begin again.
This is how I want to live: adventurously and with no regrets.

What's one way you particularly enjoy spending your time?
Anna: As I approach my senior year at Edina High School, the breaks seem to come fewer and further between, but when I find a minute to myself, I can be found browsing some of my favorite fashion blogs and Instagram accounts, like Classy Girls Wear Pearls (@sarahkip), Belles in Bows (@besspearson), and Ruby Girl (@lindseyherzog). And of course, watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix is one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long day.
Let's face it, sisters are just down-right special. What about the other most inspires you?
Anna: So many of Maria's qualities inspire me, but I think what inspires me most is her ability to find happiness and beauty in every situation. No matter what we're doing, Maria will find a way to make it fun, memorable, and of course, Instagram-able. :)
Maria: Anna loves to think big. (I would definitely be the more realistic one.) Many years ago, she told us, when she grew up, she wanted to be a CEO. But unlike many young kids, she was actually completely serious about it and had already worked out her plan on how she would begin achieving this. Her willingness to put herself out there (even if it means saying something completely ridiculous just to get a laugh) makes me want to push myself further out of my comfort zone to achieve my own goals.
Now do share a sister story with us—whether she's your sister by birth or one of those kindred souls who you never could live with out. Who helps you to get through your day? Who can call you out on your triumphs and tribulations? Who is the first person you call? For sisters we say, thank goodness!
